Brownies


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  •  
  • 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 X 13" pan.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt 1 cup butter. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, eggs, and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Beat in 2/3 cup cocoa, 1 cup flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overcook.
  4. To Make Frosting: Combine 6 tablespoons butter, 6 tablespoons cocoa, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 teaspoons vanilla, and 2 cups confectioners' sugar. Frost brownies while they are still warm.
